Kentucky Museum of Art & Craft!

Now the cigar box instruments are on display and for sale at the Kentucky Museum of Art & Craft! www.kentuckyarts.org on Main street in downtown Louisville!

They will be showing up in J. Shepherd's art/cigar shop on Bardstown road in Louisville KY!

Cow Skull Electric 4 String

A new one finished not to long ago. Built for Jamie Barnes, a great local Louisville musician.

Materials: Popular neck with padauk fingerboard, maple bridge, ebony nut, tuning pegs with rosewood knobs

This one is an electric with an 8k lipstick black pickup from guitarfetish.com
In standard banjo tuning using first 4 strings from an electric guitar set.
This one really plays!

Cigar Box Kalimba

The first attempt at building a kalimba or thumb piano.
This one turned out well and there will be more to come!

Materials: Cigar box, Fish tape for the tines, oak and brass where the tines sit and holding them down is 2 bolts through popular with another piece inside the box.
